To emphasize global readiness, logistics leader Airspeed presented its role in ensuring efficient and reliable delivery of Philippine goods to Taiwan and beyond.
“This participation reflects President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s vision, as underscored in his 2025 State of the Nation Address, to grow key industries such as agriculture and agribusiness,” said DA Assistant Secretary Atty. Genevieve E. Velicaria-Guevarra. “It is about time to expand the footprint of Philippine goods in the global market. These products embody the dedication, craftsmanship, and resilience of our farmers, fisherfolk, and agripreneurs.”
MECO Chairperson Atty. Cheloy E. Velicaria-Garafil emphasized Taiwan’s role as a vital ally in agricultural development:
“As the Philippines modernizes its agriculture, Taiwan remains a valued partner. Agriculture is not just food production—it is economic resilience, social equity, and national security.”
Beyond the trade showcase, the Philippine delegation co-hosted the Philippine Agribusiness Investment and Logistics Opportunities Forum, presenting growth avenues in agriculture, agribusiness, and logistics. The forum also highlighted the Philippine Logistics Roadmap and featured insights from the Taiwan Cold Chain Association (TCAA) on advanced cold chain technologies.
PTIC Taipei Trade Representative Anthony B. Rivera underscored the significance of this partnership:
“Taiwan is one of our closest partners in agriculture. Through Smart Agri-Week, we are connecting Filipino farmers and agripreneurs with Taiwan’s buyers, investors, and technology leaders—matching world-class Filipino products with a sophisticated market and unlocking deeper collaboration.”
Ten Philippine exhibitors proudly pitched their products and shared their innovation journeys, capturing the interest of investors and partners eager to explore opportunities in the Philippine agricultural landscape.
With strong government backing and institutional support, the Philippines’ participation in Taiwan Smart Agri-Week 2025 signals more than just trade—it is part of a larger movement to position Filipino farmers, fisherfolk, and agripreneurs as global players ready to compete, innovate, and lead.
From premium agri-based products to robust trade linkages, the Philippines is taking bold steps toward strengthening its role in the international agricultural arena.
