
DAVAO CITY – The Province of Davao Oriental has submitted a ₱2.1 billion agriculture budget proposal for 2026, aiming to strengthen its role as a national leader in agricultural innovation and productivity.
According to the provincial government, the proposed budget will fund major initiatives, including:
Promotion of sustainable farming and fishing technologies
Boosting crop, livestock, and fisheries production
Establishment of modern livestock centers
Strengthening of agricultural market systems
Expanded capacity-building programs and financial support for farmers and fishers
Governor Niño Uy emphasized the province’s commitment to agricultural development and community resilience:
“With strong governance, Davao Oriental will remain a leader in agriculture nationwide. Our collaboration with stakeholders will ensure the well-being and success of our people.”
Uy also lauded the efforts of local farmers and fisherfolk, assuring them of continued provincial support to meet the evolving challenges of the agri-fishery sector.
